An Indie Dev Playlist

While we all love hanging out as a team, there always comes those quieter moments of the day when the studio falls silent and everyone becomes buried in their work. We put on our headphones, throw on some music and get down to business.

As a lover of music, naturally I was curious what everyone else has been listening to lately - whether it be all-time favorite game soundtracks or simply just artists they love - and they answered :)

Here's a little playlist of artists and game soundtracks that we're currently loving!

Marc's Picks (Creative Director)

Some classics...

'Journey' Soundtrack

'Akira' Soundtrack

Greg's Picks (Game Designer)

"For sound tracks I am a sucker for things like Doom 2016 - for work music I normally go to synth or things like it. Today I am going back and listening to a French artist called Carpenter Brut I got into after seeing the music video for Turbo Killer. Its got a great aesthetic but with a bit of camp thrown in. Really dig his sound. Great music to listen to while working."

'Doom' Soundtrack

'Turbo Killer' - Carpenter Brut

Mike's Picks (Level Designer)

"Obviously my current favorite is the Days Gone soundtrack, but I'm also a huge fan of anything Inon Zur has done. He's done a lot of music for Fallout, Dragon Age, Outriders, etc. My work music is mostly just the Music Lab channel on youtube. :)"

'I Remember' - Days Gone Soundtrack

'Fallout 4 Theme' played by Inon Zur

Shady's Picks (Level Designer)

"For game soundtracks I would say the witcher and cyberpunk 2077 because I have a connection with the story/characters and it reminds me of how cool the experience was. There is also a soundtrack from Hades (even tho I didn't play it) called "Out of Tartarus" which is really beautiful. When I'm working (or doing anything really haha) I listen to a band called "London Grammar". The voice of the lead singer "Hannah Reid" is next level for me so that's the main reason why I like their stuff."

'Night City' - Cyberpunk 2077 Soundtrack

'Out of Tartarus' - HADES Soundtrack

'How Does it Feel' - London Grammar

Melissa's Picks (Community Manager / Producer)

'I'm a huge fan of any and all music featured in the Life is Strange games - but I especially love the track at the end of Before the Storm, Episode 1 - that scene is always an emotional one for me. As for regular music, my usual go-tos are a mix of punk-rock bands Placebo, Yungblud and Badflower. But my absolute favorite is Norwegian singer Aurora. Her sound is indescribable and always calms me down. She's constantly inspiring me to create."

'Flaws' - Daughter (Life is Strange: Before the Storm Soundtrack

'Heroin' - Badflower

'All is Soft Inside' - Aurora

. . .

And that about wraps up everyone's favorites -- maybe sometime we'll make a Spotify playlist of everyone's picks?
