WYRDSONG - Concepting

WYRDSONG, is an open-world, supernatural historical fantasy RPG set in medieval Portugal. My approach to art direction focuses on creating a more grounded and realistic look for the characters. In the early concept phase, I explored character customization, presenting a detailed breakdown of the player’s adventure gear to highlight the balance between functionality and aesthetics.

WYRDSONG - Environments

The game features two key worlds. The first is the "Other World", a fantastical realm introduced in the prototype. It includes dramatic elements like a slain Titan and a village, with visuals that play on size, scale, and visceral imagery.

The second, the "Material World", is inspired by the “Convent of Christ,” the main Templar church in Portugal. This environment has been adapted to better align with the game’s design needs, blending historical architecture with the game’s creative vision.

I collaborate with various artists using a virtual whiteboard to develop and refine key visual concepts for the game, ensuring a cohesive look across all aspects of the game world.
